Petition Letter: RE: Request to submit a late academic petition past the May 15, 2026 deadline.
1. OVERVIEW OF EXCEPTION REQUEST
I am respectfully requesting a timeline waiver of exactly one business day to submit my formal petition to add summer classes late.
The official deadline to submit academic petitions for the Summer 6W1/12W term was Friday, May 15, 2026. Because Queen’s University administrative offices were closed on Monday, May 18, 2026, for the Victoria Day statutory holiday, today (Tuesday, May 19, 2026) represents my very first available opportunity to submit this documentation following the deadline.
2. EXTREME MEDICAL & ADMINISTRATIVE EXTRENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES
My ability to meet the May 15th petition submission deadline was physically and cognitively compromised due to the following reasons:
A. Severe Motor Vehicle Collision Recovery
On April 7, 2026, I was involved in a severe, police-investigated car accident on Highway 401 (Ontario Provincial Police Report No. RM26085434). I was admitted to the Emergency Department at Trillium Health Partners with a diagnosis of Multisystem Trauma - Blunt (MRN: 1002390472).
Since the collision, I have been dealing with persistent physical pain, intense physical therapy, and cognitive exhaustion (
