Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am writing to respectfully request a deferral of my upcoming examination due to extenuating personal health circumstances that have significantly impacted my ability to prepare adequately over the past month.
Over this period, I have been experiencing ongoing health challenges of a personal nature that have materially affected my concentration, sleep, and overall capacity to engage with course material. These circumstances have been beyond my control, and despite my best efforts to manage them and maintain my academic responsibilities, I have found it increasingly difficult to perform at a level consistent with my abilities and prior academic standing.
I have taken proactive steps to address these challenges and will be beginning formal support with a health-care professional next week. I am committed to my recovery and to fulfilling my academic responsibilities, and I believe that a short deferral would allow me the necessary time to begin this support and approach the examination with the focus and preparation it requires.
I understand the importance of this examination and do not make this request lightly. I am fully prepared to provide supporting documentation upon request. I appreciate the committee's time and consideration, and I remain dedicated to my academic success.
