Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to request an additional deferral for Quiz 2 in REPD 372 due to a combination of extenuating circumstances that significantly impacted my ability to complete the assessment during the deferred exam window.

At the time of the quiz (May 19 at 8:00am to May 20 at 11:30am), I was experiencing a disruption in my prescribed anxiety and ADHD medications due to my physician being unavailable. This resulted in a heightened level of anxiety and difficulty managing the situation effectively in real time.

In addition, I was also dealing with an ongoing academic integrity investigation, which has been a significant source of stress and has further impacted my ability to focus and respond effectively under pressure.

During the exam window, I attempted to access the quiz through ProctorU but encountered technical difficulties that prevented the exam from loading properly. I made multiple attempts to refresh and relaunch the exam but was unable to proceed.

Due to the combination of technical issues and the circumstances described above, I was unable to complete the assessment within the allotted time. Although I did attempt to address the situation, I was not able to effectively navigate the appropriate support channels during the exam window.

This was not an intentional failure to complete the assessment. I made genuine efforts to access and complete the quiz, but the circumstances at the time prevented me from doing so.

I respectfully request consideration for an additional opportunity to complete Quiz 2. I am committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure that I am able to complete the assessment successfully if granted another attempt. My instructor has advised me to submit an appeal since they do not have the ability to extend the quiz.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best wishes,
Holly Donaldson
