Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To Whom it May Concern,

I am writing to respectfully petition for a late course drop for IDIS 173 and PSYC 271 from the Fall 2025 term due to extenuating medical and academic circumstances related to my registered accommodations through Queen's Student Accessibility Services (QSAS).

At the time of the Fall 2025 semester, I underestimated the impact that my documented condition would have on my ability to manage a full and demanding course load. Although I was able to maintain strong academic standing in my other courses, I experienced significant difficulty balancing the cumulative workload across all subjects. My condition affected my ability to consistently keep up with course requirements, deadlines, and overall academic functioning during that period.

I am formally registered with QSAS, and my condition and related academic impacts have been documented through the university’s accessibility processes. While I attempted to continue through the semester and manage the workload to the best of my ability, it became clear that I had taken on more than I could reasonably sustain given my circumstances at the time. Unfortunately, due to the progression of these difficulties and the challenges I was experiencing, I was unable to complete the formal course drop process before the deadline.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration of this request. I appreciate the opportunity to have my circumstances reviewed, and I am willing to provide any supporting documentation required through QSAS or my healthcare providers.

Regards,
Mehar Caur
