Petition Letter: Hi,
My name is Jessica Moniere and I am a first year Arts and Sciences student. i am appealing to add the course SPAN- P10 001 (3261) into my course schedule past the deadline. I attempted to enrol in SPAN-P10 (3261) earlier in the summer, yet there was no availability at the time. I thus registered for an online music course instead, unaware of how much difficulty I would face with the course. As I am a first year student, navigating though an online course had been very tough, and I misread that the course involved classical music, a topic that I am not willing to persue. I truly believe if I continue in this class my grades will suffer immensely. I would like to drop the MUSC 102 class online, and add the Spanish class with Professor M. Chamberlain. I would have added the class earlier, but I mistook the date and thought the last date to add a class was on November 6th. I have already contacted Professor Chamberlain and I am aware that the class in open and there is still space left. I am awaiting a response from her via email. I have a general interest for Spanish and truly believe I would thrive in the class.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I plan on enrolling in the class and discovering more about the language, and pushing my personal boundaries. I have an interest in teaching abroad, and I believe that taking this Spanish class will support my academic goals to do so. Until I get a better feel and understanding of queens, I have come to the conclusion that I should avoid online classes. In the following years, I will be better prepared for online courses. I can affirm that being in a lecture, and studying a topic that I am genuinely interested in will affect my grades in a much more positive manner. From this experience, I have learned to pay further attention to the detail of deadlines, and to take action at an earlier date.
