Petition Letter: Dear Petitions Committee,
I am writing to respectfully request permission to enroll in WRIT 120.
This course is very important to my academic and professional goals. I plan to apply to medical school, and an English writing course is one of the prerequisite requirements for many medical school programs. In addition, WRIT 120 would also help me fulfill my remaining elective credit requirements for my degree.
At the moment, I am currently 3 credits behind my graduation requirements. Without being able to enroll in WRIT 120, I will not be able to complete all of my degree requirements before my expected graduation next year. Being permitted to take this course would allow me to stay on track for graduation while also meeting the prerequisites for medical school.
I understand that I am requesting an exception, and I sincerely appreciate your consideration. If granted permission to enroll, I will make every effort to catch up on any missed material and will work diligently throughout the course to ensure my success.

Academic Plan: If my petition is granted, I have a clear plan to ensure my academic success. I will prioritize WRIT 120 by setting aside dedicated time each week to complete readings, assignments, and revisions. I will create a structured weekly schedule to stay ahead of deadlines and avoid falling behind. I also plan to attend office hours whenever I need clarification, seek feedback on my writing, and make use of any academic support services offered by the university, such as the Writing Centre. If necessary, I will reduce outside commitments to ensure I can devote sufficient time and attention to the course. I am fully committed to putting in the effort required to succeed and to maintaining strong academic performance throughout the semester.
