Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am appealing to add MATH 111 to my course schedule after the official add deadline. I was initially enrolled in MATH 110. However, after discussions with Prof. Greg Smith and Prof. Peter Taylor (the instructors for MATH 110 and MATH 111), I concluded that MATH 111 was a better fit for me. Unfortunately, I did not understand the best process for switching between MATH 110 and MATH 111. As a consequence, I dropped MATH 110 and did not add MATH 111 before the deadline. I now understand that I should have submitted an academic change for requesting a level change from MATH 110 to MATH 111. Since I have been attending linear algebra lecture (either MATH 110 or MATH 111) since the beginning of the semester, I do not anticipate any problems getting up to speed in MATH 111.
