Appeal Category Detail: Switch from FRST290 to FREN290 (both the same online course, one is simply graded in french as opposed to english)
Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am appealing to switch from FRST290 to FREN290. This is one course offered online in two sections, one in english and one in french. I am currently enrolled in FRST290, while I was supposed to be enrolled in FREN290. The professor was not able to catch this error as she does not look at which section we are enrolled in when she is grading. I have submitted all of my written assignments in French up to this point.
In other words, I have been completing this course as if I am in the French section, despite being in the English section. I need this French credit to count towards the French half of my medial plan. When I enrolled for the course, I was misinformed as the academic advisor I had talked to did not have the up to date class information (ie prior to this year, the class was solely known as FRST290). Ergo I was not aware that I was not enrolled in the proper section until my meeting with her last week.
I have discussed with Agathe from the French department about this, she discussed how another student had the same issue and this was the process she was advised to do. I am following her instructions by submitting the academic appeal, and she said she would be sending an e-mail to support this switch as well.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: Should this appeal be granted, it would greatly help my academic plan. It would work towards my French credit, as opposed to now where this course is simply acting as an elective. This would assist me to go into my final year more prepared and with a further understanding of the French language. I would really like all of my hard work in French in this course to count towards my medial plan.
Next year I will definitely triple check with all departments that all of my courses are correct and that I am in all the right sections.
