Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
Hello,
My name is Melissa Ricardo and I am in my fifth year at Queens University. The last year for me has been quite difficult and since February I developed an alcohol dependency program. In the month of October I was hospitalized on two occasions and my family decided it was best for me to move back home to Toronto for the month of November and December to enter rehabilitation courses, along with frequent psychologist meetings. I am very interested in being able to finish my studies at Queens University, and I am looking forward to being able to graduate in April. I only have a few assignments which I must complete before the semester is over and I am able to work on these from home, yet I know my absences from the courses will cause my overall mark to drop drastically. My request would be if my attendance marks could be waived.
My rehabilitation classes are in the evenings and I will be able to attend my final exams for all of my courses. My main concern at the moment is the marks I will be losing due to attendance and handing in assigments online, instead of in person.
I would really appreciate it if I could be given the opportunity to have the attendance marks waived. I will also attach a letter from my psychologist which shows that we are constantly meeting and discussing the issue.
Thank you for your time.
Melissa Ricardo
