Throughout the summer and this year, I have been trying to get in contact with my professor for managerial accounting (COMM212), and he never got back to me until Oct. 13, 2015, and didn¿¿t leave my exam in the Commerce office until a week later. He is never in Kingston, and only goes on Wednesdays because that is when he teaches his class. I only had a few questions regarding the marking on my exam, and he¿¿s gotten back to me almost three weeks later to tell me that he can no longer look over my exam, and that I should speak to the Arts and Science office regarding my exam. Therefore, I am asking to have my exam relooked, regarding the following questions:

Question 2B
For the cash budget, I was wondering if I got any marks for it My beginning cash, current sales, prior sales and cash available was correct for Q1 (Q2 the beginning cash was wrong because my ending cash was wrong). Also, the grading states that there are 2 marks delegated to structure, so I was wondering if I got any marks for structure, because I had written down the correct structure/format, despite a few of my numbers being off.

The question is worth 2.5 marks, but I only got 2 marks despite having the correct answer

Question 3C
I was wondering how come I only got 2.5 marks even though the question is out of 6 marks I answered the correct sales price and sales volume variance, and my explanation said that ¿¿variances happen because of higher price, and lower volume¿.

Question 5B

What was the grading for this question, because I wrote the correct RI wihout investment, which is 1584,000 and also the correct RI with proposed investment, which is 1804,000

What was the grading scheme for this question I got two marks out of give, but I explained that ROI can lead to what seems to be underinvestment, so a decrease, whereas RI in this situation does not contor lfor size, so it would look like there was a decrease. Furthermore, I wrote that the company POV should accept underROI if there is excess capital/profit

What was the grading scheme for this question I received a 0.5 out of 2, but I wrote that the most beneficial option would be the transfer price @ full cost because Wendy would want what¿¿s cheapest in order to increase profit margin.

Over the summer, I have also tried to get in contact with Professor Heather Bastedo. She had been relatively unresponsive, and now no longer teaches at Queen's so she does not respond at all.

For the first question 1, the marker wrote that I forgot to include settling the West from 1890-1920. However, right above this comment, I have written that exact year as well as explained the Reform party forming in the West and eventually becoming the Canadian Allegiance, and also explained that they have Populist views (this is a very brief summary of what I wrote, which is a few sentences long).


For question 3, I am a little confused about why I received 11 marks. The marker did not write anything specific, but I explained why the SMP system would be best and included real life applications with examples of the Bloc and their lack of party status, which is attributed to the SMP system and their narrow interests.
Question 3 asked me to defend the SMP system in light of
national unity concerns. Although the SMP arguably benefits the Bloc in Quebec because all of the votes within Quebec would vote for the Bloc, and therefore the chance of them winning within he province are higher, what I have argued is that in terms of national unity, SMP system benefits us and not the Bloc. I argued that the SMP system helps national unity because it appeals to views that are most widely held across the nation (as opposed to regionally concentrated, such as the Bloc). I then explain that the Bloc has narrow interests. Therefore, I use the example of the Bloc as an example of both of these points, because from the nation, the Bloc did not receive enough votes receive official party status, rendering their impact on Canada as a nation to be less. Secondly, now that the NDP Party is more popular than the Bloc, I fail to see how using the argument that the Bloc is getting votes because its votes come a province with votes that are more regionally concentrated province would be relevant.

For the question 6, the marker also did not write anything specific about what I did wrong. But I was able to compare both the RCAP recommendations along with the White Paper, explain their underlying purposes, and well as give a few examples of what each wanted. As long as I understood the principles, I am unclear as to why I received so few marks for this question. Exams should be marked based on how well the student understands the content, rather than how many sentences I write down. I would also like to add that this exam consisted of short answer questions and two exam questions, and there is no possible way that a student could have written every single thing that they remembered along with what they undestood, when there are time constraints.

Lastly, for my first essay, the marker writes that I did not mention power relations as one of the theories. However, right above it, I write about Marx's theory of power relations, as well as follow up with an example of the Western alienation¿¿. Marxist power relations is what I specialize in third year, so I have a pretty firm understanding of his theory. I am confused about the marking on this as well.
