Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear whom it may concern:

I am appealing to request an extension of an incomplete grade, in the course Math 121 which I started in the summer of 2015. The regular deadline for my completion of this grade is by the end of the fall 2015 term, and my original plan for this course was to write the exam for this course in December 2015 after having had time to adjust to my new ADHD medication academic lifestyle, along with my other exams. What I have come to realize is that as some time has passed, much of the knowledge and skills I developed for this class during the summer has gone to the back of my head which means preparation for the exam will require more time than usual.

My immediate obstacle is my current exam schedule which has me booked for Music52: 10th, Phys206: 11th, Phys242: 13th, and Math121: 15th, 3/4 being the most difficult yet fundamental and foundational classes I will be required to master in all of my undergrad plan. While I believe I can handle the density of my exams for this full time term in this period of time, I am extremely troubled by the Math121 exam being squeezed in between all this. Therefore my proposal for a solution to counter my obstacle is to write my Math121 exam just after the Christmas break, which is just a modest number of days after the original deadline for my completion of this class. I propose so because even though it is just a small extension with respect to time, it will allow me to have a Christmas break to fully concentrate on the reviewing for this class (after the completion of all of my other fall term exams) to allow for a reasonable yet far superior outcome, as I spent a lot of work over the summer in this course and aim to achieve a proud grade for this class.

My professor Alan Ableson has already agreed to such an extension, and submitted an email to appeals coordinator Haley Everson regarding his consent. Thank you so much for your time.
