Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello Associate Dean,

I am appealing to add Biology 202 after the deadline this semester.

I have completed the first half of this course in the fall, however, on Wednesday last week whilst trying to change my lab times in order to spread out my schedule, I accidentally put myself on the waitlist for a lab, still under the impression that I was enrolled in the course. Over the weekend I attempted to access the biology moodle page, and realized I was no longer enrolled in the course at all. Upon trying to rejoin, I found that the deadline had passed. Now that the add deadline has passed I am growing worried that my progress in the course may be compromised. I am currently up to date on all course materials and labs and to lose the course now would be a critical academic setback . After completing the first half of the course material in BIOL 201, I was looking forward to learning the remainder of the course material.

I realize that I have made a mistake and I am doing everything I can to rectify the situation. In the future I will take greater care when dealing with my solus account so not to make a mistake like this again. Also by paying closer attention to the deadlines I can ask for help at an appropriate time and a similar situation can be avoided.
