Petition Letter: To the Associate Dean,

I am making this appeal as I find myself being currently in the need of dropping a few of my courses. Over the past few months, I have suffered from both psychological and physiological problems that are decreasing my level of energy, give me frequent headaches and migraines and are affecting my capacity to focus and perform in my classes, among other things. These problems have moreover been increased by outside unforeseen situations in the past few months, greatly increasing my level of anxiety at levels higher than ever before. With all these facts, I know I will hardly be able to face the upcoming exam session, and that I am currently truly in need of taking care of my health. I am thus making this appeal, hoping that you may understand. I have only kept two courses for this semester, one of which is both a requirement for my degree and a full year course, and another half year one, in order to still obtain a few credits from this term, while taking a lighter course load that I can currently handle. I am however hoping to be able to take again the other courses next year, once I will hopefully be in better conditions to succeed in these courses. As an evidence of my problems, I am joining a doctor's note that I received, after the need of going into an emergency consultation, since I was too far from home to go to my family physician, and that clinics in Kingston are making me pay due to the fact that I am from another province. I have also taken an appointment with the student wellness services on campus. As I would prefer not having to go into details, I have hidden the exact description of my situation, but if necessary for the appeal process, I will do so.
