Dear Assistant Dean Blake,
Upon consultation with my academic advisor David Yousef, I am writing you to request an appeal to drop Psyc-100 late (Fall 2015) and not have it count toward my accumulated GPA.

I am asking this for the following reasons:

1. The Birth of my Son Alexander Rutherford, on October 9th 2014, has caused an overwhelming requirement of my available time as my second child and nearing 2 years has created a deficit of the allowable time I formally designated for Studying. Study time was not a problem when I took 1 course per semester, but in an effort to expedite my On-Line Degree progress I decided to take 2 courses a term and it has resulted in poorer grades as noted in my Fall 2015 Critical Thinking Course. And currently PSYC-100.

2. My wife¿¿s recovery from Cesarean surgery: (without going into details) the normal recovery time was not observed as there were complications, if required I could provide a letter from our family Doctor. Dr. Remi Lajeunesse. This put an additional pressure on me to take on 2 jobs and additional familial responsibilities. This detracted from my study time.

My future plan will be to lessen my course load to allow for the needed time for study on a 1 course per term basis until which time as my personal circumstances change. I would like to retake this course for Summer as it was a great interest to me and I have the desire to do well and succeed, but was not in a position to allocate the time the abundant course material deserved. I kindly request your consideration as it is a privilege to attend Queens and I have the desire to do well and finish what I have started.

Respectfully,

Ryan James Rutherford 10123723
