Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Hello,

At the beginning of the school year, I attempted at a full course load even though I had been diagnosed with various mental disabilities. I was set on accomplishing all of the academic goals I had set out for myself, but this proved to be more difficult then I had imagined and my course grades suffered because of that.

The course that had suffered most was Economics 250. At the beginning of the semester I got off to a terrible start and although I had improved over time, I am now at a point in which the marks I have heading into the Final Exam, will not be sufficient enough to achieve the grade needed to move forward with my major. It is because of this that I will not be taking the Econ 250 final exam and would like to remove the course from my transcript.

My hope is that this may reduce the stress of my course load so that I may focus on my other courses and achieve proficient grades in them. I have been diagnosed with major anxiety, depression and a bipolar personality. Having the econ 250 course looming over me has cause great distress and has rendered me unable to study or fulfill commitments on various occasions and has become a determent to my mental and physical health, as well as my academic wellbeing. Attached you will find supporting documentation behind the diagnosis of my mental health.

Attached is a letter from Dr. Spence, one of my psychologists, that states the mental health issues I have. I could not find my original diagnosis, but if this is absolutely necessary, I will find and send it upon request.

Thank you for your consideration on my appeal.
