New Information: Hello Dr. Bénard,

Thank you for your detailed and informative response regarding my appeal.

Frist and foremost, I am sorry for the delayed response, my declining health has occupied and required my entire focus since the most recent (emergency) surgery I had underwent at Toronto Western hospital. After spending a reasonable and safe amount of time recovering from surgery (at Toronto Western hospital), I was immediately and directly transferred to Lyndhurst Spinal Cord Injury rehab facility and admitted as an inpatient. As a result, this hindered my ability to be in any sort of communication outside of my health. Luckily enough, I was recently deemed stable to continue my lengthy recovery as an outpatient. This granted me the ability to return to my student duties.

After considering the options, I have determined the best decision would be to accept Dr. Atkinson¿¿s suggestion to ¿¿follow the PSYC 100 course again during the upcoming year (2016/17) and write the midyear exam in December and the final exam in April with the current class.¿

Therefore, I will not be enrolling in any other classes for the year until I am cleared medically and feel capable to do so. My decision is due to my given situation. My outpatient schedule will consume 5 days a week, my pain level is unpleasant and I¿¿m on an extensive amount of medications. Due to this, I will be unable to participate in any other classes and would like to limit my focus to the most crucial efforts required at the moment in my life and that would be my recovery and the second chance I have been given for the PSY/100 class.

This option will let me refresh my memory on the course material without the fear of having to compact both exams in a short time. The reason being that my current health state is in no position to allow me to study a year¿¿s worth of course work and apply it into two exams in the month of October. Also, as an outpatient I will have to be a part of a Monday-Friday program at the Spinal Cord Injury Facility, as a result, I plan to only participate in Dr. Atkinson¿¿s class in order to give my 100 focus into her course and put all my time into studying for the exams while recovering. I really like Dr. Atkinson¿¿s idea to allow me ¿¿access to OnQ to review the online lessons and do the quizzes. That way you can still be part of the learning community and can post questions and read others¿¿¿ questions and answers.¿ I look forward to returning to my studies and being part of the class which has a pace that is reasonable to learn from and would work perfectly with my outpatient schedule. This allows me to participate without redoing the entire course. I can renew and review the course material while being able to partake in the tests, and ask questions if need be, while making up the exams in a realistic time. Without the added stress of having to worry about meeting deadlines (assignments, group work etc.) during my recovery, besides the two examinations dates of course, which I will be capable of and look forward to writing with the class in December and April.

Therefore, I would really appreciate this arrangement for the 2016/2017 term and I cannot thank you enough for your patience in awaiting my response.
