Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom may concern, I am making this appeal to ask for an extenuation on Hist 252 Africa on the Modern World. I am currently asking for a chance to submit the two assignments which I had not submitted to class be considered and reviewed for altering the final grade and in hope of being able to both obtain the credit for the course, be able to participate in 3rd year studies, and above all be able to return and continue studies at Queens without an academic probation. Under circumstances pertaining to psychological challenges, I was encouraged to take off the year but chose to participate in this class over the winter. At the time I was unable to participate with class discussions or handing in classwork, I was not able to seek guidance from professional mental health professionals till too late in the semester. Despite having lost my hard drive and having to replace it two weeks ago I feel like I am more then able to submit the two course assignments which includes a 1000-1500 word book review and a 1000-1500 word opinion paper. I have sought assistance from the student accessibility services at Queens and they have promised to vouch for me, and I have also received recommendation from a Doctor who can be found at Dr.Morisano@gmail.com . I believe despite my past history in the class curriculum my understanding of the course material is present in the final examination mark as well as the two assignments for which I have ready to submit to review. I patiently ask for your consideration and approval to allow me to demonstrate my abilities to return to your institution.
