Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Hello,
In early February of this year I took a skiing trip and managed to fracture my L1 vertebra. I was left with an unstable compression fracture, which resulted in me being placed in a full-torso TLSO for a total period of 8 weeks. I am a chemistry major, I have to stand 3 hours a week for mandatory lab sessions; when I contacted the coordinator, it was suggested that I retake the courses in Winter of 2017, henceforth why I dropped three classes. I thought I could efficiently finish my courses of pharmacology 230 and physiology 214 but I was in a position where moving was very difficult, and knowing myself, that I only learn effectively in class, I should have taken a pause on those as well.
This accident has unfortunately caused me to fail my duties as a student, and I'm requesting this credit standing in hopes that I will be able to return in fall with a fresh start. My doctor's note was already sent to the registrar in March for a tuition fee appeal. Please notify me if another one is required.
Thank you,
Veronique
