Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Appeal Committee,

During the school year I thought that my summer would be fairly open like it usually has been in the past. I enrolled in FILM 260 with hopes to learn more about digital media and free up my course load for next year. Although, I do not possess the time or am in the proper mental state to complete this course. I tried dropping the class on May 28, 2016, but quickly realized that I was a day too late as the date to drop the class was May 27, 2016. I am sending this appeal to drop my enrolment in FILM 260.

I started my own business this summer and it has taken a life of its own. Fortunately, I have been able to perform a lot of work for clients, but unfortunately, this has left me with little extra time to do schoolwork. Couple this with the large family commitments that I have, and it is evident that me successfully completing FILM 260 has become overbearing.

Due to me having been worked so hard this summer, while dealing with stresses in my family, I have been unable properly to concentrate on FILM 260. I am not in the proper mental state to successfully complete this class.
