Dear Associate Dean,

I am appealing to drop ECON 212 (Fall 2015), ECON 222 (Fall 2015), ECON 240 (Winter 2016) and STAT 263 (Winter 2016) from my courses.
My reason for this appeal is that I have been facing mental health challenges for a while now and my academics have been severely affected. I lost a close family member in second year and since then I have been going through severe depression and anxiety which make it difficult for me to focus and concentrate on specific tasks even with maximum effort. I have been seeing counselors and doctors in the Student Wellness Center for a while now. The reason I did not appeal earlier for the Fall courses is because I was not aware that an appeal was possible until my counselor told me. I am also trying to finish with a general arts degree as soon as possible as opposed to Honours because of my health challenges.
I plan to continue meeting the counselors and doctors at La Salle. I also plan to begin meeting a psychologist to further help me. I am taking some courses this summer so as to reduce my workload in the fall. My supporting documentation from my counselor, Arunima will be sent from the Wellness Centre. Thank you.
