Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am writing to you to appeal to drop a summer course after the academic deadline.
In Fall 2014 term I was diagnosed with vestibular labyrinthitis which led to anxiety, panic disorder and depression. As a result I had to withdraw from my forth year of studies. This past year I returned to queens and was able to complete my undergraduate degree. In an effort to keep my options (prerequisites) open for post graduate studies, I enrolled in two (2) post degree summer semester courses. In mid May my mental health took a set back and I have been unable to focus on my studies as needed. Despite my academic accommodations, I have been struggling to keep up with my summer courses.
I was able to drop one of my courses as it was a 12 week long course and I had not past the deadline. However, FILM 260 is only six weeks and this I am seeking this request to drop the course. I need to focus on my mental and physical health in the coming weeks.
I have been in touch with my doctor, however I don't think it will be possible for me to bounce back in time to complete this course.
