Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Faculty of Arts and Science.

My name is Colin Zarzour, and I am appealing to waive the 21 day appeal deadline, and appealing to drop a course that I fully intended and thought I had dropped earlier in the year.

I attempted to run for AMS executive this year, and signed up for POLS 242 for the winter semester of the 2015-2016 academic year. I intended to work in the course if I was successful in the election, and to drop it if i was unsuccessful. Due to a constellation of issues, including an extended appeals process surrounding the elections results, and perhaps just the exhaustion of attempting the campaign, I thought I had dropped the course when in fact I must not have successfully completed the drop on solus.

I have not completed any work or attended any class, a concern raised by the undergraduate assistant as well, when we realised that perhaps i had not dropped the course (Emma Paszat, the TA I was assigned to, can attest to this as well). The mark is not a fair reflection of my work in the course, as i had also already taken that credit in a prior year. If possible, I would like the course to be removed from my transcript. I hope my attempts to contribute to the academic community here at queen's does not result in a 'F' on my transcript.
