Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,

I am submitting this appeal regarding my requirement to withdraw for a year from my studies. In my last few years of studies I have had serious problems in regards to whether I had picked the right degree program. This dissatisfaction led to me suffering from depression over the last few years, which affected my academic performance.

However, since I was given notice that I would be required to withdraw for a year I came to a sort of epiphany dealing with my academic goals. For a very long time now I have wanted to switch into an engineering program, however, due to poor academic performance I was unable to do so.

What I am appealing for is the opportunity to simply finish my degree program. I am only 18 credits short of graduating, which would take me two semesters or less of studies. I have come to a significant understanding of my academic goals in the last few months. Giving me the opportunity to finish my degree this year would not only improve my conditions financially but would also improve them greatly psychologically. I know it does not appear that I deserve a second chance on paper, but the difference it would make on my life would be immeasurable. I just want to finish what I started.

Thank you so much for your time. I appreciate your consideration on my appeal.

Yours truly,
Michael Gogovita
