Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean
Thank you for your time to read this
I¿¿d like to appeal for two courses, one is CISC124 which I look in the winter of 2013 and the other is BIOL103 which I took during winter 2012.
I¿¿d like to say first that this is my second time to submit an appeal letter and due to my medical condition that I have, although I wrote the final exam for CISC124 I regret it because of the pain for sitting for a long time that caused me this unbearable pain and as a result that I can¿¿t focus on the things that I do. So it affected me in my performance in the final exam. My medical complications started a year ago and I have been on a surgical consult list and this issue is very unpredictable and the pain is unbearable. I can¿¿t really sit for a long period of time not to mention it was very hard for me to sit through a three hour long final exam. Before I submitted this appeal I tried to contact my faculty chair, professor David Skillicorn, and stating my situation and he said that he doesn¿¿t see any problem with me having a CR standing towards my CISC124 however it seems like my instructor, Margaret Lamb, disagreed and in the email that she sent me she said that ¿¿ The only documentation we've seen is a medical excuse for the exact date of the final exam, but you wrote the exam. We give make-up exams or other accommodations for students who miss an exam with a valid excuse, but the situation is different when the student writes the exam and then presents an excuse for that date after they see their mark.¿ It seemed to me like she thinks that I somehow made up my medical condition and I used in my advantage. This made me very unhappy and I feel like I have been looked down upon because of this medical issue that I have. I really think that I should not be punished because I tried to overcome my medical issue and write the final exam but failed. I believe that I had made some progress both academically and medically and I really hope that my appeal gets granted.
As for my BIOL103 that I took last year, I asked for a CR or AG standing a year ago and after the approval of the appeal, my grade in BIOL 103 wasn't changed and the professor, Peter Boag, gave me an F. I found this out by checking my grades this year and after noticing this problem I contacted him and asked for this situation, and he directed me to Rob Snetsinger and the answer he gave was to have me write the BIOL103 final in order to change my grade. I am very confused because upon the approval of my last appeal all the other professors for my other classes all gave either a CR standing or an AG standing except for biology. I hope that you can look into this situation as well.
Thanks again for your time with this appeal and I really hope that I can be approved and I will work even harder in my future studies. If there are any questions I¿¿d love to speak in person since there are just so much words can describe.
