New Information: Dear Dr. Benard,
I am making an amendment to the initial appeal that I submitted in August because I would also like to request aegrotat standing in Socy 273. Unfortunately, my post-concussion symptoms have persisted longer than expected, and I have had to make some changes to my course load this fall. With recommendations from the accessibility office here at Queen¿¿s and Dr. O¿¿Connor, who I met with on 9/15/16, I am taking a lighter course load of 4 classes (Socy 352, Socy 309, Socy 389, Prof 310) compared to a full course load of 6. If granted aegrotat standing for these three courses, I will only have to finish two assignments from last winter. Due to my lighter course load, I have space in my weekly schedule to devote time to finishing these remaining assignments and plan to do so before fall exams begin.
I have decided to request aegrotat standing in Socy 273 because I have spoken with my professor from that course, Robyn Saaltink, and we have determined that I completed enough work to be eligible for aegrotat standing. I believe it would be beneficial for my recovery and for my ability to focus on my present courses to receive aegrotat standing in Socy 273.
In addition, I have added the most up to date documentation from Dr. O¿¿Connor with symptoms and accommodation suggestions.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my application.
