Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am a third year student majoring in English. As a requirement for my program I need to complete three 300 level courses this year. I was previously in ENGL 347 American Literature and the Long 19th Century, but I was not very interested in the course and wanted to switch out. I made this decision only two days after the drop-date and could not swap the courses on solus. Trying to work out how I could swap the courses I dropped ENGL 347 but found I could not add either the new course or 347 back into my plan. This leaves me with only four courses in each semester and not the right number of required courses for my program. I really need to take one of the classes this year. I have spoken to Dr. May the Undergraduate Chair, as well as Dr. Cameron the instructor of the course and they have both given their support in my joining this new class. I am a very hard worker and would be able to catch up very quickly. Please allow me to have the right number of required courses for my program. Many thanks, Ted Boyle
Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I have a few friends in this new class that can help me catch up. They have been keeping me up to date on what is going on in the course and it would not be hard for me to catch up quickly. I have actually been doing some of the required readings for the class already and will not be far behind when I join the class. I believe that my academic performance will not be extremely affected by this course swap.
