Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Sir or Madam:

I am Xinmeng Bai and I am a first-year student who is in Arts and Science Program. I am appealing to drop CISC 102 (Fall, 2016) due to following reasons.

I should do apologize because I did not drop the class on time. It is my first year of the university study, so I do not have the strong realization that I need to drop and add my class on tome, I am so sorry about that. I want to drop this class because I just found CISC 102 is extremely difficult for me one month ago, I could not understand the professor in the class and could not do all of the questions in the homework. I tried my best during this month and used a lot of time on CISC102, but I realized I can not handle this class as well. I tried my best to understand what professor said in the class, and tried my best to do all of the homework, and I asked I lot of questions to my friends and the instructor, I bought the textbook and used a lot of time to read it, but unfortunately, I still found that I could not understand and do the questions by my own. The mark of my first text was really bad, and when I was reviewing for the second test last week, I found that I can do nothing It is my first computer class and I did not have the foundation in learning this class, so it is really hard for me, that is why I want to drop my class. If I do not drop this class at this time, I will fail my final exam in December. I do not want to fail any classes at the first year, I am an international student and I do not want my parents get worried about me. I do not want to fail the class, so can you help me to drop this class

I promise that this circumstance will not happen in the future. In the future study, I will choose the class which is suitable for me, and I will add and drop my class on time. I do the apologize again, because I did not drop the class on time. I really want you to help me drop class CISC102. Thank you so much
