Petition Letter
Petition Letter: To the Associate Dean,
I am a first year Undergraduate and I am writing this appeal to you as I have decided to withdraw from my studies at Queen¿¿s . Unfortunately I have missed the academic deadline for withdrawing from my two Fall term courses ECON 111 and ASTR 101 and I am appealing to drop these with no academic penalty due to medical reasons .
For the past five weeks I have been suffering from a stomach illness which has made it difficult for me to focus on my studies and keep up with the work and classes . It has been very challenging for me both physically and emotionally , and so along with my parents and family doctor we have decided that it is best for me to leave Queen¿¿s and return to my home in Halifax and get well . My plan is is to then resume studying my Undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University in Halifax , living at home which will be much better for my condition .
I apologize for missing the deadline for withdrawal ,but I did not realize this until I spoke to an academic advisor at Queen¿¿s on November 10th who explained to me that II had missed the deadline was required now to write an appeal in order to not have an academic penalty on my record .
I have submitted my application to Dalhousie University for the Winter term and they will require my transcripts from Queen¿¿s .So I am appealing to you to allow me to drop the two Fall term courses , ECON 111 and ASTR 101 without academic penalty so that I will be able to continue my Undergraduate degree at home in Halifax at Dalhousie University
I have a letter from our family doctor , Dr. Howard Conter explaining my medical condition which I will email to you to support my appeal . If there is any further information required I can send it as well right away .
Thank you for your consideration and understanding in my case.
Sincerely ,
Jacob Suissa
