Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am appealing to drop the course ENGL 100. Due to increasing responsibilities placed on me at the moment, I have had less time to focus on assignments and to complete my readings. I do not have a doctor¿¿s note. Over the past few months, the care of my elderly father has increased, as he requires more help at home and personal care and right now I am the one providing that care until I can retain a personal support worker to help him. I also have had a death in the family earlier this week and I am involved in the final arrangements.
I am appealing past the deadline because I was trying to catch up on school work but realize at this point, I do not believe that I can successfully continue with the course and expect to achieve a passing grade.
