Petition Letter: Hi there
Sorry for bothering, I'm a exchange student taking PSYC241 (Fall 2016). I'm nervous about my grades and want to appeal to drop this course.
I've never experience this sort of exam before for example I thought the multiple choice should have multiple answer but it's wrong. In addition, my english is poor when it comes to proper nouns. As a result I only get 5.25/30 points in Exam1.
After I take Exam2 and knowing the grade is barely satisfied too. I found there is no possibility for me to get a grade above 50. It's really important for me because if I get an F I would definatly get a acedemic penalty back to my home university. I major in Social Work and the content of Social Psychology is quiet familiar to me, indeed. But The language barrier is the big problem. I can only use the dictionary in the final exam, but I already get a unsatisfactory grade in the two exams before and even I get full mark I still can't pass the course.
The reason I didn't ask for a drop earlier is that I was familiar with the content of the course and don't know my exam grade. I thought it would be a simple task but it comes out that the language is a big difficulty when taking an exam.
I wonder if I can appeal for a last drop. I apologize for the inconvenience caused and really feel sorry from deep heart. Prof. MacDonald who lecturing this course also support me on the last drop.
Sincerely,
SIwei Liu
