Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am writing to request a late drop of ENG 100 and PHIL 257. I dropped PHIL 257 on SOLUS in September, 2013 and subsequently withdrew from ENG 100 in October, 2013. For some reason I remained registered in these course and the failure of my attempt at dropping them was not made known to me until I received a letter from the Faculty of Arts and Science in June, 2014.

I have spoken with Ms. Cindy Butts in the Arts and Science Office regarding my efforts to drop PHIL 257 and ENG 100. According to her records my attempt to drop these two courses is clearly visible on SOLUS. Following my conversation with Ms. Butts I contacted the instructors in PHIL 257, Professor Leighton, and ENG 100, Professor John Pierce. They both agreed that I was not a student in their classes. Professor Stephen Leighton confirmed that I was never in his class while Professor Pierce agreed that I stopped attending his class in early October and never handed in any assignments.
