Petition Letter: To whom It may concern,
I am an exchange student from France. I am making this appeal because I am not able to complete my five courses for the semester. I would like to drop my Atypical Development course (PSYC 350).
I am encountering many difficulties with my studies because of the language barriers and adjusting to a very different academic system in a short period of time (I am on exchange for only 8 months). I really enjoy my courses and I work very, very hard to understand the content and to submit quality work.
Unfortunately, it has been an overwhelming period for me and I am proactively trying to improve myself. I am seeking assistance through Queen's cross-cultural counsellor to help overcome this difficult academic and personal adjustment period. Attached is an official Request for Special Short-Term Academic Accommodations that explains the specific accommodations needed.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you need additional information.
Sincerely,
Violette Ariagno.
