Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am requesting to drop a course after the deadline as my professor denied my request for an Incomplete Grade. I requested permission for an Incomplete Grade due to extenuating circumstances beyond my control that have prevented me from completing my term work and writing the final exam for the course ECON360. I requested the opportunity to submit incomplete coursework and to write a make up exam during the month of April 2017. I have been unable to complete my work due to depression and debilitating alcoholism. I will not be attending Queen¿¿s University next semester as I will be focusing on my recovery and sobriety. I have completed the MAARS referral program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Heath in Toronto on November 29th and December 2nd. I will be completing the Young Adult Residential Treatment 28-day inpatient program at the Camillus Centre, run by St. Joseph¿¿s General Hospital at Elliot Lake. However my professor insisted that no student shall receive a special deal therefore I am submitting this appeal in hopes of being able to drop this course as I will not be able to write the final exam. I have attached a screenshot of an email from CAMH confirming my referral to the Camillus Centre and will be able to provide further documentation once I have completed the residential inpatient program.
