Re: Appeal Letter

Dear Associate Dean,
I would like to appeal on following grounds:
1. I would like to defer my examination for ECON 112 to the New Year.
2. I would like to defer my examination for EMPR 220 to the New Year.
3. I would like to appeal the grade on the second and last assignment for EMPR 220.
During the examination period the weather and road conditions in Toronto were too bad. The snow storm was announced on the news stations and lasted the entire week. I informed the CDS team that I would not be able to attend the ECON 112 and EMPR 220 examinations. I also sort advice from my instructors before the exam and on the day. Dr. Staples responded and said that I should file an appeal according to the instructions of Ms. Monica Desjardins. Today, I sent both instructions a form for the Permission for an Incomplete Grade or Deferred Examination to request a deferral, and I have not heard back from them. (See Faculty of Arts and Science Regulation 10.2.4)
I would like to request that my last assignment in EMPR 220 is amended without the penalty, because I did not quite understand that I should get back to my instructor after my initial letter. My initial letter requested a few more hours as an extension. Because I did not receive an email response directly from the instructor, I assumed that I should just hand in the assignment after the weekend. Apparently, after discussing this with the instructor, I should have written another letter to request more time. Similarly, I would like to request that my 2nd assignment in EMPR 220 is reread because I feel that it could have achieved some more credit.
I look forward to hearing from you, and thank you in advance,
Yours sincerely

Michael Edwards

Amendment to Appeal 2917

New Information: Dear Associate Dean,

As regards PSYC 100, I would like to appeal the assignment 2 that was poorly marked. The teaching assistant (Irene Hong) appeared to have a lack of comprehension and standards. The feedback was unethical and prejudicial at this point.

I would like the exams to be reviewed because, I have very good grades in other work that is related to my degree(s). The class has been asked to wait until January 9th, 2017 to obtain a copy of the examination and an informal review.

Specifically, I would like to appeal the Proctored Mid-Year examination taken at the University of Toronto because the marks are not consistent with my previous results in the Mid-term Quiz, assignments, and quizzes. I would like the Faculty to be reviewed because, I have very good grades in other work that is related to my degree(s). The class has been asked to wait until January 9th, 2017 to obtain a copy of the examination and an informal review.

My marks are not consistent with my best efforts. In the past, I know there are usually mistakes in the Psychology department. The Scantron information was originally written in pen by mistake, so I had to rewrite it in pencil. I would like to check the multiple choice and any essay questions and I would also like to receive a copy of the exams.

Please, could you add this information to my appeal

Yours sincerely
