Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am requesting to have two failed courses removed from my transcript or marked as did not finish.

Due to a diagnosed mental health disability, and chronic brain damage as a result of concussions. I was unable to finish last term with the grades that I know I am capable of. I failed two courses.

My request for leniency on these failures comes because I lapsed particularly hard this term, and I finally started seeing doctors about my condition; however by the time I was diagnosed and had appropriate paper work which attested to my condition it felt hopeless to apply for accommodations.

I know I am capable of doing better than my two failures this term, and I believe my academic history attests to that.

you ill also find that I got zero percent in one of my courses, however this is wholly inaccurate as I submitted a 20 page assignment to the professor which he refused to accept.

I made concerted efforts to pass these courses and truly dug down, but the limitations of my condition made it very difficult to finish assignments which I had spent months working on.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: My plan going forward is to follow my psychologists advice to take a reduced course load, as well as to take take the medication I have been presribed in order to mitigate the symptoms of my condition.

Furthermore, I will seek out ongoing CBT therapy as well as academic accommodation. With a diagnosis I now feel more attuned to the struggles which have plagued my academic career, and knowing this will be better able and more confident to address them.
