Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern:

I am appealing Law 201 due to the fact that I was unable to complete the course in the Fall because of medical reasons. In March of 2016 I was diagnosed with a chronic illness. The doctors who are following my progress and I are still trying to figure out the appropriate amount and timing of my treatment, which greatly impacts my immune system and my energy levels.

During December exams I was ill with Bronchitis, which is why I was unable to write the final exam for this course. However, due to the fact that my treatment for my ongoing issue weakens my immune system, it took longer for me to recover than expected. Now that I am back at school, taking five courses, the extra work to prepare for this exam is highly stressful, which again makes my condition worse. Since I have completed 75 of the work, I would like to appeal for Aegrotat Standing. Being granted this appeal will be extremely helpful with my current condition and workload for this semester, which will in turn aid my recovery process greatly.

I am attaching my medical note from when I was released from the hospital at the beginning of 2016 as well as my current note from January 16th, 2017, which explains that I am still receiving treatment and suffering from this chronic condition.
