Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am requesting that my current course, ENG 100-700 be dropped so that I can withdraw from the summer semester without academic penalty.

I have continued to struggle with anxiety and depression from before Christmas 2012 and have not been functioning well at school or home since that time. My sleep and appetite continue to be affected. I have been to my family doctor, and we are now starting a course of medication to see if that will help me.

Last year I carried a lighter course load in an effort to complete some courses and try to work through my difficulties on my own. I continued to experience difficulty but did manage to pass a couple of courses.

I enrolled in the summer online course so I could catch up. I have been unable to complete it due to the difficulties I am experiencing.

I intend to continue to work with my family doctor and will hopefully be able to return to school. Although the future is uncertain at this time, my goal is to continue and finish my university education.
