Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern:
I am appealing to drop the online Anatomy 100 course I am currently enrolled in and to be able to enrol in the Special Directed Laboratory Course (PSYC 570) in the Attention Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Daryl Wilson. I am a third year psychology student and I am very interested in psychological research and would love to be able to complete a course that is designed around research. Unfortunately the opportunity to work as a directed laboratory student in the Attention Laboratory did not come up until after the drop/add deadline. In addition, next year, in my fourth year I am planning to complete my thesis, therefore this semester (Winter 2017) is my last opportunity to be able to complete a 570 course. I believe the PSYC 570 course will be a great learning opportunity and I believe this course will greatly benefit me by exposing me to research methods that I will be able to take into my thesis next year.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I am planning on completing the PSYC 570 course in the winter 2017 semester. By completing the PSYC 570 course in the winter 2017 semester I will then have one less psychology course requirement in my fourth year. By having one less psychology course requirement in my fourth year I will then have room to take ANAT 100 in 2017-2018 (the course I am currently appealing to drop this semester). Therefore, this current semester (winter 2017) I will complete the PSYC 570 course and in my fourth year I will complete ANAT 100, one 300 level biology course, two 300 level psychology courses, one course from the Queen's Science course list, two other electives, and complete my thesis. This plan will allow me to meet all my requirements for both my psychology major and biology minor by the end of my fourth year.
