Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am applying for Aegrotat status in my GNDS 215 online course. I have been struggling with anxiety and insomnia for the past year and a half and it has severely impacted my ability to take on a full Queen's course while also working full time in order to meet basic living needs, as living with parents for financial support is not an option. I have a health care plan in place with both my medical doctor who has prescribed me anti-psychotic medication and my therapist who I see weekly. I also have the support of my professor, Melissa Houghtaling who I have communicated with diligently throughout the term of the course in terms of my situation and condition. If deemed necessary I can provide medical documentation and documentation from my therapist. However, please consider the cost that is associated with obtaining documentation from health professionals. I have to pay 50 to apply for a an appeal, as well as for a Dr. note, which is causing further stress on my current financial and health situation.
