Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,

I had some issues scheduling my courses due to conflicts with essential courses I needed for my degree and others that I need to obtain my Professional Geologist certification (APGO) as a result it took me a few days to sort my courses out and when I attempted to add the course on the 14th, I learned that a block had been placed on my account as I had not paid tuition yet (as I had not finalized my courses). It took me a few days for the money to transfer and for me to get paid from my job so that I would have the money, and that took until the 19th (I get paid on Thursdays, I work for the AMS). I paid the money and attempted to add the course for which it then blocked me again as I had not previously taken Sedimentology, which I am currently taking. However, many students in the class have the same issue and the professor has allowed them to do the course and informed me that he would allow me the same privilege. I submitted my application to get into the course the next day but it was not processed before the deadline.

As explained below, I have attended all lectures and submitted all assignments. I am in my third year here and have always paid my tuition and am in good academic standing. Thank you for taking the time to read my appeal.

Any assistance would be very greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Cameron Fischl

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I have attended all the lectures so far and submitted the assignment that we had due (worth 5). I am up to date in the course material and feel comfortable with it as I have already taken a number of courses in this subject (GPHY 103, GEOL 106, GEOL 365, etc.). As a result I feel like there is little risk of me not succeeding in the course.
