Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Hello,
I am writing an academic appeal to drop 3 of the 4 courses that I am currently enrolled in for the Winter 2017 term. The reason that I need to drop 3 courses after the deadline, is due to the fact that I received a last minute military posting. I am currently an active member of the military and I just received a posting this week without any prior notice, which the military states I must go on. I will be moving to Ottawa within the next 2 weeks and I will be posted there for 3 years. I did tell the military that I have courses I am currently taking, and I asked if I could begin the posting in May so I could finish my current courses, but unfortunately I am not able to do so and I must begin the posting on the set date of March 20th. As a result I am unable to complete 3 of my 4 courses this term, which require me to attend lecture and practicum sessions on campus. I will not need to drop ANAT 100 due to the fact that it is an online course and I do not need to be on campus to complete the course. My intention is while posted full-time in Ottawa I plan continue my studies part-time online as I will have enough time to take 1-2 online courses per semester. Once my posting is complete I intend to come back to Queens full-time to finish any remaining courses that require me to be on campus.
Thank you for taking the time to review my appeal.
Best Regards,
Scott Day
