Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear Sir or Madam,
I have been experiencing mental health issues this semester and it has impacted my ability to focus on my courses. My concentration was affected as was my ability to attend class regularly. My mental health has gotten worse as the semester went on, and I had found that I was simply unable to do any school work. After going to the hospital on the 12th of February and receiving an appointment with Health Services later that week I began to receive treatment, however I did not feel that I would be able to properly focus on my health while attending school. As such, after consulting with my doctor and my family, I decided it would be in my best interest to return home and prioritize my health.
As such, I would be unable to complete certain courses. I have consulted with my professors, and reached the conclusion that it would be better to drop the courses and retake them next year when I am in a better state of mind. I do hope to be able to return to my studies in the fall, and would like to try and minimize the academic fallout of not completing this semester. As such I would like to be allowed to drop the courses I have listed without academic penalty.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration,
Erin Miller
