Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean(Stuides),
I am appealing to drop the Linear Algebra course (Spring, 2017)
I am Boyao Gao, a student in the computing department. I am sorry to bother you at such a time. Actually, I want to drop my math110 and I know that the courses registration deadline has passed so that's why I send you this letter.
The Linear Algebra make me really confused sometimes and there was no supplements for me to check to review. You know, the math subjects are always easy to understand. Therefore, I probably need something for my professor like supplements to check I have already understand them all. That's one of the case I can hardly review. Also, the speed of the course is also too fast for me the follow. You know, I am even not an native speaker and I am not familiar with my professor's accent actually. So when he talked really fast, I cannot understand what he mean and I hurt my interest in learning Linear Algebra. In addition, I can't even understand my professor's heap of writing on the blackboard. The handwriting was really strange actually. To tell you the truth, sometimes he even wrote words with uppercase letters and lowercase letters together randomly. It made me much more difficult in understanding what he was teaching about. Especially, I have been absent for some of the classes because I got sick. Nobody can be healthy forever and people have to have a rest when they feel really bad. Therefore, I chose to stay at home and sleep in my bed instead of studying. And then I noticed I cannot understand the knowledge any more after those days. rest. The knowledge of Linear Algebra is continuous I think. So when the continuous is cracked, it would be really hard for people to keep studying and following. All of the above make the score of my Linear Algebra course really low and I have to retake this course one more time. And the struggle when of learning Linear Algebra make me lose the interest in keeping studying. So why not end this situation right now and save time and let me focus on other courses
That's why I want to drop the course and I wish you can give me the chance. I know that that was my fault of being absent in some of the classes. I feel sorry about that. However, that's the thing that inevitable. I think I could be better if I can focus on this course one more semester, because I can have chance to study one more time and I can have more time to enhance the impression of Linear Algebra. Furthermore, I probably can choose math 111 instead of math 110 that I cannot understand. So please accept my request and I will really appreciate it.
Thank you and have a nice day.
