Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I apply here to drop the course PHIL 270 after deadline, this is the result of reasons from many aspects.
As a science student learning math in Queen¿¿s, I took PHIL 270, a totally arts course for interest. However, since I am not very familiar to the regulations of the course(both because I have never taken such a small-sized arts lecture and I missed the first week when the instructor explaining the details of marking), while my classmates, mostly from Philosophy major, are already used to these. In this way, I missed more than half of the weekly essays(what we called here is WUP, short for write up, which I mixed up with the half page of paper we submitted after each lecture).
I tried to apply for make it a PIC(personal interest course) after the mid-term, which I did really bad in it. However, only from that time, I knew PIC also has a deadline and the only suggestion from them is to late drop this course.
I tried to insist until finishing this course because I chose this course at the beginning of this semester for thinking I actually do better in Arts course, especially when it only relates reciting. This was the decision after advice from the doctor, she said I should not push myself too hard and try to find some easy courses for me. However, after the test, I only found out that my memory is affected awfully under disease. Although I reviewed the material for test for four days, I couldn¿¿t remember anything when writing it. My mind was totally blank and can¿¿t stop to tremble during the whole test.
I really cannot bear the pressure from this now and here apply to late drop it. There is VOI(verification of illness) and screenshots of my grades showing that I somehow missed all the first 6 weekly essays while attending and finishing other assignments in time. I can provide these if reference is needed.
