Dear Sir/Madam:

The purpose of this letter is to request an appeal to permit me to drop after the last official date for dropping classes, without academic penalty, all my Winter Term courses; specifically: ARTH 310 (Feminism, Art, Art History); ARTH 354 (Age of Rembrandt); ARTH 375 (Early Netherlandish Painting); and HIST 206 (Selected Topics in History). The basis for my appeal is that there were extenuating circumstances beyond my control, which are more fully outlined in the attached confidential Updated Consultation Note prepared by Allyson G. Harrison at the Regional Assessment and Resource Centre at Queen¿¿s University. I am making this appeal on the advice, and with the support, of Dr. Harrison.

I realize that I have appealed courses in the past, but I believe each situation has been unique. I am optimistic that the Queen¿¿s RARC¿¿s new and more thorough evaluation will allow me to finally manage and resolve my mental health challenges in an effective way. I am currently exploring different therapy options to try to address my mental health issues, and I would like the ability to return to Queen¿¿s in the future when I am better able to meet the academic demands associated with my chosen degree.
