Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: This application for AG status in GEOL 104 is linked to 2 other applications I wrote for classes this term. The reason for my request is the same, the suicide of my friend and attempted suicide of another friend. I have been waiting for myself to recover from the suicide but I have just gotten worse in the weeks since it happened. I didn't apply for AG in this class earlier because I thought that by now I would be fine. I still haven't been able to return to quality studying. Most of this month was spent grieving with friends or doing things related to the funeral. I am completely exhausted. The Chaplain Kate Johnson whom I have been meeting with has urged me to write this appeal.

I have been meeting with Kate occasionally to talk about everything and have been in contact with all of my professors.

I plan on writing the GEOL 104 lab exam to bring me past 60 of the coursework. If granted this AG I would be able to graduate this spring and start my next degree on time in September.
