Petition Letter

Petition Letter: My name is Tyler Reynolds and I am writting to remove math 221 and econ 351 from my transcript as well as,get a CR for math 384. Towards the middle of the fall semester this year, I began to experience inability to focus and remember content that I had learned in my courses. Even though i was putting in the work and doing well on assignments, when I had to do even basic problems on tests or quizs, I was unable to recall what I had learned, even though momments before writting them, I had no problem doing the exact same questions. I proceeded to consult a mental health councilor towards the end of the semester, to discuss possible solutions, I also reached out to accessiblity services for when or if a mental diagnoisis was given, I was already aware of the information and the steps I needed to take to recieve accommendations. I discussed the issue I was having with my natualpath at home and was given ginko suppliments as well as memory suplliments. I saw results right away and my grades started to improve slightly and I was hopeful going into exam season that I could save me grades in these classes. I met with the councilor again to report that I was improving. Just after this, however, one of my sister's best friends and someone I personally knew well, Kyle Coleman, committed suicide at the Univerity of Guelph. This hurt my academic progress as I spent many nights talking to my sister and family. Had I been aware it was possible to deffer my exams I would have. I found myself being distracted from my studies and unable to focus because of the event that had transpired. I also lost a ton of sleep in an already stressful part of the year, hurting my studies further. Due to the above reasons I feel my academic preformace in my classes in the fall semester were not representative of my academic ability in those classes.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my appeal.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I now currently taking the suppliments described above regularly and am seeing a normal level of academic preformance. As for my one time circumstance, I met with guidance councilors afterwards and now know there are more resources at my disposal in dealing with personal grievences.
