Subject: APPEAL LETTER TO ADD PSYC 100 SUMMER COURSE
Dear, Dr. Bénard
I am David Biorac, I am a first year student in the faculty of Arts and Science at Queen¿¿s University. I am appealing to add the online PSYC 100 (Section 700, May to July 12) course past the deadline of May 5th.
Unfortunately, on April 19th my lung collapsed and I was in the hospital for two days. This caused my Biology and Physics exams to be pushed back May 1st and April 28th respectively. Due to these exams being deferred, I did not get all my marks back at the same time. After reviewing my marks, I realized I did not have the GPA needed to apply to major in Life Sciences, this was due to my PSYC 100 mark being much lower than the rest of my marks. Therefore, I tried applying to the online summer course for PSYC 100 but I realized that I was past the deadline to add summer courses. The PSYC 100 summer course would be vital to the overall success of my degree plan.
As mentioned before I am wanting to pursue a major in Life Sciences but due to my poor mark in PSYC 100 I am below the cut off for this major. If my appeal is granted, I will work day and night to achieve an A+ in that course to make sure I succeed in being accepted to Life Sciences. This includes staying on top of all the course work and lessons, daily reviewing and studying of material. I do realize that I will be starting late for this course but I intend to catch up by my relentless work ethic and completing all the lessons. I am determined to be successful in this course if my appeal is granted.
Yours truly,
David Biorac (20026355)
