Petition Letter: Dear Sir or Madam,

I hope this finds you well

My name is Aniela Tolentino, I am an international third year student completing a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Philosophy along with Business and Law certificates.

I wish to do an independent study abroad this academic year, 2017-2018 and Fall 2018. My expected graduation is Spring 2019. I recently received an offer of admission from Dublin City University (DCU) in Dublin, Ireland. I plan to compete my third year Fall semester (2017) in DCU and later on transfer to a different institution, University College Dublin (UCD), for my third year Winter semester (2018) as well as my fourth year Fall semester (2018).
Due to this, I am writing with regards to my Letter of Permission and appeal to undergo this programme as an upper year student.

I have already accomplished 72 out of 114 units towards my ArtSci degree, 30 of which apply to my Philosophy requirements. Consequently, I am looking to do 12 elective units in DCU. I have been advised by the International Programs Office with regards to the maximum number of 54 units allowed by Queen's to be completed abroad. I will do some of my Philosophy requirements in University College Dublin if my department undergraduate chair permits.

As for Winter 2018 and Fall 2018, I wish to transfer to University College Dublin, for a study abroad and for exchange respectively, to take courses that will satisfy my course requirements.

I will then return to Queen's for Winter 2019 to take the remaining courses towards my Business Certificate and final Law course (Workplace Law). I plan to graduate in time for the Spring convocation. However, if certain courses taken at UCD do not satisfy my Philosophy requirements at Queen's, I am willing to postpone my graduation for another semester to meet these requirements.
