Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: 24 July 2017
Dear Associate Dean of Studies, Queen¿¿s University.
I am appealing to drop psych 100 (summer 2015) from my transcript.
Please consider the late appeal on these grounds/extenuating circumstances:
1. I was force relocated/posted during this course with the Army.
2. I was force enrolled onto my Military Primary Leadership Qualification (PLQ) course without which I lose my promotion instantly. Unfortunately, I had to choose to pass this over my Queen¿¿s course or face severe career consequences. I was loaded onto my PLQ after the Queen¿¿s U drop date.
3. I completed 3 full tours of duty. These injuries have amounted to my being honorably medically discharged from the services this fall. I was also in the middle of PTSD treatment and other significant health treatments as a result of multiple back to back deployments / tours of duty to Afghanistan during my studies.
The above events made it impossible to be successful with my first attempt at psych 100 and to submit my appeal until this time.
My future plan is that I would like to return to studies at Queen¿¿s University, successfully repeat psych 100 , and finish my bachelor¿¿s degree. This will be possible now because I will be relieved from duty this September, medically retiring, and can devote all of my energies to this endeavor. I will also have full funding available too as part of my injuries settlement package.
I intend to work with VAC (Veterans Affairs Canada) and Queen¿¿s accessibility services to ensure my success.
